Make Me Stay was a fantastic read. This awoke a spark in me and spoke to my soul. I've read a lot of great books recently, but there's always a select few that feel as if they were written just for me. This is one of those select few. This is exactly what I enjoy reading and the love I wish to have in my own life. The characters were well-developed and complex, and the plot had so many layers to unpack. I obviously related to the main character because I am hearing impaired as well and do not see a lot of representation in the novels I read. I am not sure of the author’s connection to the Deaf and hearing impaired community, but I greatly appreciate her efforts in gifting us with this story. I must add that I read most of this book in one night and I couldn’t put it down. There were some noticeable editing errors, but overall, this was still a great read.
