This was a cute story and a good introduction to the possible love story between Jane and Jacob. For me, this book struck me more as a prequel than a full-fledge standalone. The author did a decent job of setting the stage and introducing us to the characters. I didn't really get to connect with the characters, though. I was also surprised by how quickly the book ended. If Book 2 has a more developed plot and more depth, it should be a hit!
